Thuso Life funeral plan:

The Thuso Life Funeral Plan gives you the peace of mind of knowing that you and your family will be cared for in times of need. It offers life insurance cover of up to R100 000 and funeral cover of up to R10 000 per member.

Postbank’s Thuso Funeral Plan is underwritten by the Safrican Insurance Company, a well-established South African company which first began operating in the field of funeral insurance in 1932. Safrican was purchased by the Fedsure Group in 1993 and became a separate division focusing on providing funeral benefits.

The average cost of a funeral has risen from R515 in 1980 to R4000 in 2006. Safrican’s mission is to find ways to help people through these difficult times with quick financial support.

How to Apply:

There are various different Thuso Life Plans available, each with different monthly contributions and benefits. You choose the plan according to what you can afford on a monthly basis and according to what type of payout you want. The higher your monthly contribution, the higher the payout.

The Blue Plan
• Principal member is below 61 years of age.
• Contributions of R50 per month.
• E.g. Up to R5 000 paid into the beneficiaries account.

The Green Plan
• Principal member aged below 61.
• Contributions of R100 per month.

The Gold Plan
• Principal member aged below 61.
• Contributions of R150 per month.

The Platinum Plan
• Principal member aged below 61.
• Contributions of R200 per month.

The Orange Extra Plan
• Principal member aged below 61.
• Contributions of R80 per month.

The Silver Pensioner’s Plan
a) Aged below 65 (R7500 per month)
b) Aged between 65-74 (R3000 per month)
c) Aged between 75-84 (R1500 per month)
